What is it?
Healthy Life is Bolton Community Leisure’s exercise referral programme, in partnership with 'Let’s Keep Bolton Moving' (https://letskeepboltonmoving.co.uk/).
It’s a fantastic way to boost your fitness, increase your activity levels, and feel better, with the support of our friendly, qualified team.
How do I qualify and join?
Our Exercise Referral Scheme is designed to support individuals (18+) who are inactive or managing a medical condition or disability, helping them become more active in a safe and supported environment.
This scheme is by referral only. Speak to your Health Professional to see if you're eligible.
If you qualify and are referred, you can visit the centre of your choice to book a consultation appointment with one of our Exercise Referral qualified instructors.
You may qualify if you live in Bolton or the Bolton Boroughs and pay council tax to Bolton Council.
Who Can Refer You?
- Eligible referrals can be made through the following services:
- Newly diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes – via Health Improvement Practitioners
- Prehab4Cancer – via GM Active
- Talking Therapies – via NHS Bolton
- Post-Stroke – via the NHS Stroke Team
- Long COVID – via the Neurological Team
- Parkinson’s Disease – via the Neurological Team
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS) – via the Neurological Team
- WorkWell Programme
The programme lasts up to six months, offering personalised guidance to help you build confidence, improve your health, and move towards a more active lifestyle, one step at a time.
